How can uST technology improve the efficiency of industrial enterprises?

Грузовой транспорт uST

For industrial companies, creating an optimal logistics chain with the least time and financial costs is not an easy task. At the same time, the requirements for optimizing technological processes are constantly growing. Solutions developed by Unitsky String Technologies Inc. for cargo transportation will allow you to establish a safe logistics process and eliminate force majeure.

For the smooth operation of the enterprise, raw materials, supplies and components must be delivered from the general factory warehouses to the workshops. Also, workpieces and parts must move between workshops during the technological process. And from there, the finished products arrive at the warehouse. However, the work of workshops may stop due to late delivery of parts necessary for the repair or adjustment of machine tools and special equipment. The lack of new spare parts, tools and raw materials leads to downtime and financial losses.

uST technology minimizes transport risks and opens up new transportation opportunities for industrial companies. uST complexes can act as a link between remote production sites, workshops, and warehouses.

Transport and infrastructure located on the second level above ground will significantly reduce time and costs for logistics processes, optimizing the transportation chain. Their delivery is carried out using unmanned electric vehicles on steel wheels (uPods). uPods travel along a string-rail overpass laid above the ground at speeds up to 150 km/h. This type of transportation ensures a consistent pace of productivity and, if needed, can completely eliminate storage space on the enterprise’s territory.

The construction of uST complexes is not associated with large-scale earthworks, as is the case with the laying of new highways: there is no need for the organization of overpasses, or the construction of embankments and culverts. The large length of the spans between the supports allows you to save money when constructing transport and infrastructure complexes.

uST technology is optimally suited for organizing logistics on the territory of industrial enterprises for several more reasons:

  • Versatility of transportation. It is possible to transport any type of cargo – from bulk (coal, ore, building materials) to liquid (petroleum products, liquefied gas, drinking water) and piece (containers, metal). In the case of dangerous goods, uST transport provides unprecedented reliability due to its design features and movement on the second level (without congestion and accidental obstacles).
  • The uST solution can be operated 24/7, regardless of the season, climate or weather conditions, and therefore fully meets the requirements of modern transport logistics.
  • uST complexes have a long service life: 25 years for the rolling stock and 50 years for the track respectively.
  • Due to the short travel interval between electric vehicles on steel wheels, a large number of goods can be transported (up to 100 million tons of cargo per year).
  • The cargo is securely fixed, and during its transportation, an automated control system is used to monitor the situation: sensors are located throughout the overpass and on the uPods. This significantly reduces the impact of the human factor and reduces staff costs.
  • Buildings as part of uST transport and infrastructure complexes could be used as terminals for loading/unloading and transshipment of goods. If necessary, the buildings can be equipped with a control room and a maintenance area.
  • The implementation of the uST complex will help to avoid accidents on the territory of enterprises. The aboveground tracks run at a height of 3.5 m, which eliminates the collision of uPods with infrastructure facilities.
  • The derailment system is responsible for the uPod stability in any weather: there will be no falls and rollovers.

Zero accidents and high reliability allow us to talk about a new way of safe transportation of various types of goods on the territory of industrial facilities.
