One of the applications of string transport and infrastructure complexes is sea transportation. Thanks to the use of a string-rail overpass, seaports can be built far from the coast, which eliminates the work and costs that are necessary when building ports near land. Such a single complex can not only reduce the cost of building ports, but can also optimize maritime logistics.

Such a seaport can be located at up to 10 km from the coastline and located on the sea shelf with natural depths. Berths can be installed on a pile foundation or on floating moored pontoons. During the construction of such a port, it is not required to create mooring walls and increase the depth near the coast for large ships.

In addition, transport and infrastructure located on the second tier will significantly reduce the time and cost of transporting goods. The rolling stock moves along a string-rail overpass laid above the ground and water at a speed of up to 150 km/h and is capable of transporting more than 100 million tons of cargo per year. Such transport provides a uniform rhythm of productivity and, if necessary, can eliminate storage volumes in the port area.
