New Details about Unicont

24 January 2022

Despite its short history, string transport already boasts a wide range of rolling stock: it all started with passenger vehicles – personal and public, urban, – later cargo vehicles were added to them. One of them, unicont, was recently described by the specialized journal “Innovative Transport”.

At the beginning of the publication, the authors analyse why cargo transportation using string-rail transport is much more efficient than existing solutions:

- it can be used in regions with harsh terrain, water barriers, and large-scale development;

- the track structure can be laid along the shortest path;

- high environmental friendliness;

- energy efficiency;

- low costs;

- full automation of loading and unloading operations and more.

Unicont is a mounted automatic self-propelled double-rail cargo vehicle designed to transport cargo containers with a nominal length of 20 and 40 feet at a speed of up to 100 km/h. Scope of application: logistics centres, sea and dry ports, mining sites in various climatic conditions.

If you are interested in what these vehicles consist of, how they can be combined into a train, what they are equipped with, then all this and much more is available in the publication “Innovative Transport journal published an article about the benefits of the UST Inc. solutions in the field of cargo transportation" on the developer's website.
