Time is Right for String Transport

Time is Right for String Transport

14 October 2021

A very interesting article by Jennifer Sensiba analyzing string technologies’ yet undisclosed potential has just been published on the US cleantechnica.com – the #1 most loved electric vehicle, solar energy, and battery news and analysis site in the world – and already reprinted in German by gettotext.com. We present the publication in a slightly abridged form:

“Cities Must Consider Flexible Transit Options Before The Next Pandemic — Here’s One Answer From UST”

For decades, local governments have been trying to get people to ride transit more. Easing congestion, lowering the need for parking spaces, and reducing pollution are all great goals that a decent public transit system can go a long way toward solving. Though, when lives are at stake, these considerations have to take a back seat. When the COVID-19 pandemic started spreading, transit riderships dropped big time in cities around the world. A demand for new public transport is emerging – flexible, efficient, affordable, and capable of carrying as many passengers as aircraft and trains do, but at the same time avoiding large crowds. Such transport complexes are designed, manufactured, and maintained by Unitsky String Technologies, Inc.

The UST technology solves transport problems related to Coronavirus and possible future epidemics.

Putting dozens or hundreds of people in a cramped space just isn’t a great idea when a deadly disease is spreading. It’s time to look for more flexible systems we can use to roll with the punches the next time a global pandemic comes through. One good alternative we’ve seen is offered by Unitsky String Technologies, Inc., or UST. Instead of offering a “one size fits all” transportation vehicle, they built with capacity flexibility in mind from the start. By using “string” rails, vehicles of all sizes — from those serving individuals and small groups, to more traditional ones with seating for dozens of people — are all available. Considering its option for small capacity, the complex still provides a traffic flow comparable to a metro system (up to 50,000 people/hour). The adaptation for the passenger traffic can be performed not only through multi-car vehicles operating on the line, but also simply through an increase in the number of vehicles moving in an electronic coupling.

All of this means a UST string rail system would be ready for the next pandemic.

Keeping the vehicles off the ground, open-air, off-street platforms have a big advantage here, allowing for better management of pathogens, both during and between pandemics.

Second, in almost two years, COVID-19 claimed the lives of about four million people. During this same time frame, about three million people died in car accidents, and another 20 million were disabled in them. Large-scale introduction of string transport can solve this problem.

Third, climate change is flooding many cities, both on the coasts and away from them. Moving infrastructure above street level keeps it out of harm’s way and makes a city’s transit system more resilient to climate change.

Learn more about the advantages of string transport at EXPO 2020, which started in Dubai on October 1, 2021 (the exhibition name has been kept from 2020). Unitsky String Technologies is part of this international event. The company’s stand is located in the Belarusian pavilion. UST also invites readers to visit the uSky Center located in Sharjah. You can not only see the operating string transport there, but also test drive it!
