Governor Sergey Morozov About SkyWay Route “This Will Be in Russia Soon”

18 Junе 2018

In his interview with the news agency TASS, Sergey Morozov, Governor of Ulyanovsk region, who heads the region since 2004 and distinguished himself by raising the aircraft industry and wind power engineering in his area, told about what it’s like to deal with extraordinary projects and what is needed for their success. He said that all new projects usually meet opposition of the majority:

“When I first announced that we would become an aviation capital, only a lazy person did not twist his finger at his temple with the words: “Crazy man, what aviation? We will never have it.” Nevertheless, you see the result: we have taken Tu-204 to the air, sold a huge number of these aircraft, which are now in demand both in Russia and abroad. The fleet of Red Wings Airlines consists of Tu-204 by 100%.”

He also mentioned SkyWay transport among the innovative projects, which, despite the distrust, have already reached tangible success:

“When we started to deal with the project of Yunitskiy’s SkyWay transport, everyone also giggled over me and said: “Oh, fool.” We broke away from it, but look: a huge route has already been built for such transport in Belarus, and this will be in Russia soon.”

Sergey Morozov pointed out the lack of government support, especially in terms of funding, as the main reason that some of the projects are leaving Russia.

The article is available in full at the TASS website (in Russian).

Let us recall that Sergey Morozov presented the SkyWay transport project to Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting of the State Council Presidium in Ulyanovsk on November 24, 2009.
