In 2018 the world’s largest exhibition of transport technologies registered a record number of participants and guests, demonstrated 400 innovations and 155 world premieres. It attracted 160,000 visitors from 110 countries, 25 business delegations from 18 countries, who arrived in Berlin to look around 3,062 expositions. 89% of the participants expressed their satisfaction with the results of the forum, which is also a record indicator.

Representatives of the SkyWay company-developer visited the stands of companies operating in the segment of relevant and promising developments. The results of the analysis showed that market leaders are going to further refine existing concepts, improving the most diverse aspects in the operation of classic trains and buses. Comfort, automatic control systems, alternative fuels, convenient interfaces and sharing models are all showcased at the exhibition and presented in an already well-developed state. It is difficult to say what cards the competitors have “up their sleeves”, but most likely these are the same trains, albeit in a different design and with some other software.

On the other hand, interest in the SkyWay transport was quite tangible: all the market leaders have visited our display stand. SkyWay has one of the most unusual stands at the exhibition. After all, high-speed transport of such format is a rarity, especially with such exclusive features: maximum speed is 500 km/h, while fuel consumption at this speed is 0.93 kg/100 passengers × km, which is a record for a high-speed light wheeled vehicle.

Additional attention to SkyWay stand was attracted due to the fact that it was attended by the key persons of the Company with whom it was possible to talk and get the information of interest first hand. The novelty was presented personally by Anatoly Yunitskiy, General designer of SkyWay Technologies Co. and author of the SkyWay transport concept.

As SkyWay employees from the stand noted, the exposition made a great impression on the guests for several reasons: firstly, such developments had not been presented before, the concept is fresh and unexpected, while in terms of design and technology it had been worked out at a high level. Secondly, no one expected this from the traditionally conservative and “quiet” Belarus. At the same time, the Company is creating an additional intrigue: if the stand exhibits such an exclusive thing, what remains behind the scenes?

Operational features of the new transport have also been appreciated: the guests of the stand took part in a survey on what they think about some particular aspects of ergonomics at the new SkyWay module, which can be estimated based on the experience of examining the exhibited vehicle. According to the results of the survey by visitors from 40 countries, the average rating of its design and ease of use was about 9 points out of 10 possible.

The takeaway is that for SkyWay creators InnoTrans 2018 became a negotiating table, a site for meeting and exchanging experience with market leaders in the development of innovative transport technologies and with future consumers of our services. The participants of the exhibition showed a keen interest in the project, and it is quite possible that this interest will develop into a full-fledged cooperation. In addition to colleagues from the transport sector, business contacts have been established with representatives from the Transport Ministry of Bahrain, the Development Corporation of Malaysia, governmental agencies of Iran and other interested entities.
