A supposed initiator of the articles published by Onliner was found

Let us remind you that in order to counter fake news, outright lies and slander from such media portals as Onliner.by and Tut.by, Anatoli Yunitski wrote an open letter to the President and created a petition on the website change.org. Thus some results were achieved.

“More than 30 thousand people have signed the petition, several dozens of letters have been sent to the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus. They turned their attention to the problem. The decisive role in this was played by the project investors and the associates, who supported SkyWay in word and deed,” the founder of string transport wrote in his LiveJournal.

As already mentioned, on April 30, 2019 His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, approved a package of projects proposed by the Ministry of Transport (RTA). The list of projects included the SkyWay urban transport system with a total length of 15 km and 21 stations on the route. Sheikh announced this decision on his Twitter page, after which the significant victory for SkyWay was highlighted in many mass media resources all over the world.

However, in Belarus, at the birthplace of SkyWay string transport, this information did not arouse much interest. Only Tut.by wrote about the project success, though it was done in an awkward, doubtful way, by selectively taking information out of context. And their main competitors Onliner.by, a media portal known for its particular opposition to SkyWay and Anatoli Yunitski personally, decided not only to ignore the event significant for the whole country, but also to harm the project.

 “It was done in such a way that it could remain unnoticed, but the petition did induce some people to take a closer look at the essence of what is happening and inform me about it,” Anatoli Yunitski emphasized.

A certain Mr. Vitaliy Shuravko wrote the following comment to the Twitter post of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed: “Your Highness, please let your security services closely evaluate this project. This company is wildly known as a scam”.

This “certain Mr.” is the founder and owner of a 49% share of Onliner.by. There are many posts on his Twitter page with harsh criticism of journalists, who wrote about the project in a positive or even neutral manner, as well as reposts of Nikolai Kozlovich the Chief Editor of Onliner, who also spoke quite negatively about the string transport.

Anatoli Yunitski points out that this person obviously “is the initiator” of the materials about SkyWay published by Konstantin Sidorovich, who is the author of the “exposing” articles about the project and who is one of the most “distinguished” journalists of this portal.

“Now, when I know the name of the initiator of these articles, I may demand to initiate a criminal case against him. However, the main thing is that we have received tangible confirmation of the huge support enjoyed by SkyWay in this struggle. The project is developing and moving forward not thanks to the Belarusian mass media, but in spite of it. The “fake” information published by Onliner was picked up by Tut.by and others. Whoever was standing behind Mr. Shuravko, the decision to launch an attack from the pages of a popular national Internet portal, which has weight in the journalistic community, was right. But they did not take into account that fake articles could not cope with the power of an idea, which time has come. If they could not impede when we were weak, they would not be able to do this now, when we could achieve so much and are becoming stronger each day”, Anatoly Yunitski wrote.

The founder of string transport also thanked all people, who did not stay indifferent and supported SkyWay in the fight against the dishonest journalists. Please find the full english text here.
