String Transport is a Leader of the Sustainable Transportation Industry

Dear colleagues, as the UAE branch of the project reports its representatives took part in the Business Breakfast hosted by Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park, and themed: "Sustainable transportation: How to get the Emirates sustainably today and in the future".

The project was presented at the panel discussion, with the focus on the benefits of string technologies specifically in the field of sustainable development. Sustainable transportation is any mode or management form of transportation that reduces impact on environment. These include walking and cycling, eco-friendly cars, as well as urban transport systems that are energy-efficient, conserve space and promote healthy lifestyles. Objective of sustainable transport development is to maximize the well-being of people and to provide a sound and safe economic, social, and environmental basis for both present and future generations.

Development of a sustainable transport policy involves coordination of environmental, social, and economic goals, and requires addressing a wide range of land transport related issues, such as traffic accidents, social welfare, accessibility, increased traffic, impact on humans, environmental impact, noise, CO2 emissions, air quality, etc. Sustainable transport is essentially an alternative kind of transport that has less negative impact on environment and society without compromising accessibility, the latter being the most important functional parameter of the transport sector.

Integration of the innovative string technologies into the transport infrastructure will minimize the negative consequences of using conventional vehicles, such as deaths and injuries because of road accidents, air pollution, high fuel consumption, and traffic congestion, thus will subsequently contribute to improving the humankind life quality and sustainable development goals.
