Colleagues, according to the developer's website, the assembly of the chassis of a self-propelled stand – a bi-rail wheeled electric vehicle – has been completed at its production facility. On it, engineers will work out design solutions and test string transport control systems. The model is already being fully tested on a semi-rigid string-rail overpass in Belarus.
Previously, all elements of the rolling stock were tested directly on the rolling stock. This is quite inconvenient, since it was not always possible to make demonstration runs during excursions, because the company's employees were forced to interrupt the tests. In addition, the testing of any new solution required the dismantling of the components of the transport. To avoid this, the chassis of the self-propelled stand was developed, the special modular design of which allows for research and development work. It is a traction module and a weight-cargo model connected to each other, which can move at a speed of 80 km/h. The load capacity of the stand is 1,000 kg. The design of the rail electric vehicle provides free access to components and assemblies, which ensures the convenience of its maintenance.
Particular attention was paid to automation. Sensors located in the model transmit measurement information to the control system. It, in turn, provides control and analysis of the received data in real time. This helps to determine the operability of the stand and prevent any problems. At the same time, the operator can gain access to the control of the rail electric vehicle at any time. The stand is also equipped with a motion data recording system. It makes it possible to keep a record of all the events occurring during the trip. At the same time, the control algorithms are designed in such a way that no single failure will lead to the loss of the possibility of independent movement of a rail electric vehicle.
The company's specialists are already setting up new control algorithms. Full operation of the stand will begin after successful commissioning. The first tests will concern the system of automatic steering of the chassis to maintain a straight line or cornering. All solutions that are successfully tested will be incorporated into new string transport projects.
