Academic Perspective

24 November 2022

Dear friends, the academic recognition of the project is expanding – according to the report of the developer company, a delegation from the Brest State Technical University (BrSTU) has visited it.

Representatives of the university have got acquainted with the activities of the design bureaus and the Design Department, which today employs BrSTU graduates as well. The central point of the visit has been the signing of a cooperation agreement. The parties have agreed on joint work in the research and development field and training of engineering personnel, as well as on cooperation in other areas. Preliminary agreements stipulate that the university students will have the opportunity to take an internship at the company with potential employment upon its completion.

The visitors have remained positively impressed by the scale of the project's production complex and the assembly of the rolling stock. They have got acquainted with the fleet of modern equipment used to manufacture rolling stock bodies, motor-in-wheels, engines, energy storage devices and other elements of string transport.

In addition, visitors appreciated the possibilities of transport and infrastructure complexes at the innovative technology testing and certification centre in Maryina Gorka. Representatives of the university have got acquainted with the exhibits of the String Transport Museum, visited passenger stations and the control room, learned about the features and advantages of string-rail overpasses.

The meeting ended with a discussion of areas of cooperation. Among them – the joint holding of scientific events, lectures and practical classes, the implementation of joint innovation projects, as well as interaction in several other areas.

In conclusion, let us quote the CEO of the company-developer of string technologies after the signing of the cooperation agreement: “Recent years have witnessed an ambiguous situation in the job market: promising graduates of technical universities tend to seek employment in the IT industry. This trend creates some challenges for other industries. And engineering is no exception. Our mission is to keep young specialists motivated to become engineers and allow them to progress in this field, while providing a decent income and working conditions. And this agreement is an essential step towards this goal".
