A Tropical Downpour in the Mid-Latitudes

A Tropical Downpour in the Mid-Latitudes

26 January 2022

Among the other advantages that string transport has over its competitors, safety is of particular importance. RSW Systems investors are convinced of the superiority of uSky's technology because it has been proven by numerous experiments. One of them has recently been reported by UST, Inc.:

“Through tropical rain: Unitsky String Technologies Inc. continues transport testing”

“EcoTechnoPark. It's pouring rain. Unibus, crossing the territory of the innovation center, confidently overcomes the dense wall of rain. If a regular passenger bus driver were in a similar situation, they might have made a forced stop on the side of the road. But the unmanned string transport continues to move calmly, as if nothing happens”.

This is a description of one of the tests of string transport in an artificially created tropical downpour. In this case, the moisture resistance of the electric rail vehicle was tested. The downpour itself was simulated using a special watering machine. Earlier a similar test using a sprinkler had been successful, but now they decided to increase the water pressure, for which the company had specially developed a new, more powerful, rainwater horizontal watering machine. According to the designers, you can get caught in such a “rainstorm” only in the tropics.

You can find out more about the test in the original publication, and here is the summary of the test: “As you can see, string transport is very resistant even to the most adverse weather conditions. The system responsible for water resistance has proven its effectiveness. At the same time, the situation, which could become a serious problem for any vehicle, did not affect the unibus operation in any way. This is just one of a series of tests aimed to make string transport as safe, efficient, and comfortable for passengers as possible”.
