String Track Launch in Sharjah

String Track Launch in Sharjah

17 Junе 2021 8459

Even in a region already "spoiled" with innovation, such as the Middle East, our project continues to attract close attention: this time the start of operation of the test track in Sharjah  as we informed you about last month – has been highlighted by the English media outlet “Retail & Leisure International” (RLI), a truly global magazine covering this sector.

The article reports on the first passengers to board a four-seater unicar developed in Belarus, which operates on a 400-metre test track at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park. In addition to this research center, the developer also has a larger test site, which is expected to be ready by November, with further plans to eventually open a permanent commercial line.

“The mode of transport could provide the inspiration for greener transport options for people in the future. It is also considered less invasive that others as it doesn’t require the demolition of homes or natural spaces and as the electrical motor within the pod can be powered by wind or solar energy, the transportation is considered a power-saving solution.

Should plans continue to progress for the pods, the technology could bring about a 20-minute commute from Dubai to Abu Dhabi”.

Established fifteen years ago, RLI is an international publication that provides well-written analyses on an extensive variety of topics, together with informative in-depth articles and profiles on the industry's leading operators. Circulated monthly to 20,000 individually named CEO's, Directors and key decision-makers internationally, the magazine is dedicated to the retail and leisure market, incorporating global news, specialist features, profiles and regular sections all combined to offer the reader a valuable insight into the impact of retail and leisure development on the industry as a whole. RLI, is the chosen Global Media Partner for all major industry events.
