New tools in the Company’s arsenal

New tools in the Company’s arsenal

05 February 2020

The PLM Department of Unitsky String Technologies Co., which manages the product lifecycle, has arranged and held a meeting of experts from Dassault Systèmes and IGA Technologies with the heads of the design Bureaus on engineering calculations and construction structure calculations. They discussed the implementation of Abaqus Unified FEA product package developed by Dassault Systèmes into the Company’s operations.

Our technicians often have to use tools from different vendors to model the attributes of products they are designing, but in practice this reduces efficiency and increases costs. Therefore, Unitsky String Technologies Co. is interested in developing 3DExperience platform using various package solutions. For example, Simulia applications, which include Abaqus Unified FEA, provide a realistic simulation. They speed up the process of evaluating performance features, reliability, and safety of materials before making physical prototypes. It is a scalable package of unified analysis solutions that allows users to collaborate, share data and apply proven methods without compromising the reliability of information.

Abaqus Unified FEA helps to solve not only current problems, but also to eliminate complex engineering problems in a variety of industries. For example, professionals of Unitsky String Technologies Co. will use complex solutions for a wide range of engineering calculations: full load on SkyWay vehicles, dynamic vibrations, multimodular systems, impact and accident consequences, carry out a nonlinear static analysis and also determine the thermal and acoustic-structural correlations. In the future, Abaqus Unified FEA package can be used to consolidate processes and tools, reduce costs, increase efficiency and gain competitive advantages.

The PLM Department also held several meetings between representatives of IGA Technologies and microclimate experts from the rolling stock Administration and the city transport complex design Bureau, where they discussed issues of comfortable accommodation of passengers in vehicles. Employees of Unitsky String Technologies Co. were shown how the model-oriented space of 3DExperience platform implements a calculated cycle for modeling the movement of air flows in the passenger cabin. This software module allows to significantly save time and money on expensive field tests in climatic chambers.

In addition, since the beginning of 2020, Unitsky String Technologies Co. has been increasing the volume of electronic approval and issuance of working construction documentation (WCD) for production based on 3DExperience platform. Therefore, it was necessary to create new and optimize existing routes for WCD approval in the Administrations of transport overpasses and rolling stock. To do this, the PLM Department held a field seminar with the heads of design Bureaus, where they discussed working with a single digital layout that contains large elements of track structure, as well as creating and updating WCD for track structure elements using 3DExperience tools. Previously, documentation was issued in memos and pdf files to the production facility through 1C program, now it is done through 3dexperience platform and the process of electronic approval process Change Action in the form of digital drawings and models. This allows to significantly increase the efficiency of work and speed up data exchange.
