Khaleej Times and Gulf News on the development of SkyWay project in the UAE

23 January 2020

"The 2.5-kilometer section of the track for testing string cargo transport will be completed within 6 months," this news recently appeared in the authoritative online edition Gulf News. This was stated to the media by representatives of the Belarusian engineering company SkyWay GreenTech, which is managing the project’s development at the Innovation Center in Sharjah. "This is where the string transport system will be tested and certified before it is implemented on a global scale," they told to the press.

As a reminder, earlier, a test ride of the "tropical" unicar on a 400-meter-long section was successfully demonstrated in Sharjah. And Hussain al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, pointed out that SkyWay project is part of a "comprehensive plan to transform the city of Sharjah into a sustainable futuristic city."

Today, this project is still in the experimental phase, but the construction of suspended test tracks in SRTI Park, located inside the campus of the American University of Sharjah (AUS), is proceeding according to plan.

"We have just completed the first stage and started the second stage for conducting tenders on testing the new advanced travel technology, both freight and passenger transportation," Raman Marwaha, senior Vice President of SkyWay GreenTech project division, told Khaleej Times news agency.
