A representative delegation from Kazakhstan examined SkyWay transport

14 March 2018

A delegation from Almaty, Kazakhstan paid a visit to Skyway Technologies Co. in the period 12-14 March 2018. It consisted of representatives from State bodies and private enterprises interested in cooperation. They represented the Administration of passenger transport and highways of the city, LLP “Transportation holding”, LLP “Almatyelectrotrans” and LLP “Innovative Transport QAZAQSTAN”.

During the meeting the guests held negotiations with the General designer of SkyWay transport Dr Anatoly Yunitskiy, have visited the pilot production facility and EcoTechnoPark in Maryina Gorka. Of course, the prospects for the construction of SkyWay routes in the southern capital of Kazakhstan were in the spotlight. The logistics issue is one of the most painful for Almaty and the surrounding suburbs and towns, as well as for all major cities in Russia and Belarus.

The problem to replace the tramway network with a new mode of transport is under consideration now in Almaty. Moreover, the city Akimat (Mayor’s Office) is ready to consider SkyWay as a possible solution for urban and suburban communications.

They discussed the possibility to implement a SkyWay targeted project from the subway station “Kalkaman” to the town of Kaskelen during the visit. Particular emphasis was focused on public-private partnership in the framework of the project’s realization. Several other promising directions for the use of Skyway transport in the region were also defined.

Let us remind that the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakhytzhan Sagintayev mentioned the development of transport among the priorities in his speech at the exhibition “Made in Belarus Astana 2017”. He said “I see a great potential for the development of our economic cooperation in three main areas: growth of trade, investment cooperation and the development of transport and logistics infrastructure.” SkyWay string transport became front and center in the report of TV Company “Khabar 24” about the exhibition. Earlier, in June, Astana residents appealed to the local Akim (Mayor) with a request to introduce Skyway transport in the city.
