Digest on the Development of String Technologies. Issue No.8.

10 May 2021

We have already got acquainted with the recently appeared name of the string transport top of the line, therefore from now on similar publications of Unitsky String Technologies, Inc. will not raise any questions:

“High-speed intercity #transportation at speeds up to 500 km/h is carried out by #Uniflash premium 6-seater electropods with a streamlined #aerodynamic #design and a reinforced track structure”.

Nevertheless, now, the most promising direction for the commercialization of string transport looks like freight, and even more specifically, container transportation

“#UST aternative transport solution can reduce the delivery time for a TEU container from Port Said to Port Tawfiq from 14 to 2 hours, while the loading and unloading process will take no more than 65 seconds”.

The international francophone commercial magazine Classe Export has published a large illustrated article "United Arab Emirates: Sharjah Opens the First Line of High-speed Aerial Wagons". It is not difficult to guess that it is about our project.

At the beginning of the publication, its author, Marc Hoffmeister, notes the connection of Unitsky String Technology, Inc. with the Russian Federation of Cosmonautics, talks about track structures in Sharjah, both completed and under construction, reporting that the 400-meter line will begin transporting passengers presumably in 2022 and by the middle of the year, more than a 2-kilometer long track is expected to be complete. Within three years, a 130-kilometer cargo line is to be put into operation, connecting the city of Sharjah with the port of Khor Fakkan, through which cargo weighing up to 25 tons will be transported at a speed of 130 km/h. To build this line is cheaper than highways, and it also requires lower maintenance costs. Its service life is 100 years even in the extreme conditions of the Middle East.

The author shares his impressions, comparing the appearance of the string pods with gondolas, noting that these are cars moving on rails, and with steel against steel friction, energy consumption is low. The vehicles can run partly on solar or wind power, so the construction and maintenance costs of the complex are cut in half compared to competitors. Of course according to Mark Hoffmeister, string transport will cost much less than, for example, Hyperloop.

Further, the author dwells on the spaciousness and speeds of the string rolling stock, noting that in the case of the construction of a line between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, a trip to a distance of about 140 km will take only 20 minutes.

After talking about the experience of operating EcoTechnoPark in Belarus, the journalist comes to the conclusion that this is a "green" mode of transport, ideal for real estate projects, which leads to the end of the article with a message that the UAE government has approved the tests carried out by the company and wants to use this type of transport in its development plans. Moreover, Saudi Arabia, which is launching the project of the city of the future “SMART city: The Line”, wants to integrate this new mode of transport into it.
