Nearest Future of the Far East

Nearest Future of the Far East

25 September 2018

In recent years the Far East has been under spotlight by the leadership of Russia – a confirmation of this are both the last visit (in Russian) of President Vladimir Putin to Vladivostok during the Eastern Economic Forum, and a separate development program approved (in Russian) there, and the emergence of major investment projects in the region including those related to infrastructure development (in Russian).

“The development of the Far East is an unconditional priority for us, it is a consistent and long-term policy. We see in this a powerful resource for achieving those strategic goals that we set for a breakthrough development, strengthening the country’s competitiveness, improving the quality of life of citizens. The new role of the Far East as the locomotive of the domestic economy, innovations and culture will gain strength in the coming years,” Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out.

One of the most important problems of the region, which experts discuss (in Russian) is the undeveloped or outdated transport infrastructure that offsets agricultural producers in the Far East to increase exports to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, which are practically bottomless food markets because of the rapidly growing population.

Naturally, SkyWay has already its solution to this problem – you can read about it in the release of “Arguments and Facts: Business Environment” the Far East (in Russian).
