3DEXPERIENCE Platform: development and upgrading

3DEXPERIENCE Platform: development and upgrading

22 January 2020

In parallel with the modernization of SkyWay's production facilities, the developer Company's professionals are carrying out planned work on upgrading digital platforms used to develop and manufacture string transport systems.

In particular, the Company's structural divisions obtained over 580 new licenses (accounts) for working with 3DEXPERIENCE Platform instruments over the past year, and more than 100 employees were trained to interact with the new functionality. The purchased licenses cover many areas of the Company's day-to-day activities, such as: designing and construction, business process management, performing calculations, digital manufacturing, business analytics and project management.

In addition, design Bureaus have introduced new digital tools for creative modeling of stylistic surfaces and high accuracy surfaces, deformation and analysis of surfaces, creation, control and modeling of products with complex mechanisms allowing to develop kinematic scenarios, as well as to design connections, analyze the kinematics of mechanisms, identify and remove conflicts at the early designing stages.

An improved revision of 3DEXPERIENCE Platform has also been deployed in the Company's test servers. The updated version of the platform includes about 12 improvements that make it easier to work with flexible parts (for example, springs, hoses, wires), improve the visibility of the threading texture after assigning the material, as well as provide preview of assemblies and parts in a search mode, etc. In case of obtaining positive test results, the updated version of 3DEXPERIENCE Platform will be transferred to the Company's production servers.

Moreover, partnerships with 3DEXPERIENCE developers are being strengthened: over the past year, our project organization together with Dassault Systemes has held a number of events, including exhibitions, seminars and conferences.

"The platform is ideal for developing our integrated transport network," said Anatoli Unitsky, General designer, Unitsky String Technologies Co., “We need to take into account the smallest parts, so that we can then trace the life cycle of each project up to its operation and disposal, and know the fate of each component, including that at the production phase. Only 3DEXPERIENCE Platform allows this approach to be implemented."
