Faster, Higher, More Comfortable

Faster, Higher, More Comfortable

06 November 2018

The November issue of “Office Life” journal published an interview with Sergey Artyushevsky, Chief designer of the high-speed transport complex at SkyWay Technologies Co. The high-speed unibus, the first “brainchild” of the design bureau headed by Sergey, was presented at an exhibition in Berlin in September, and is now preparing to pass tests.

In his interview, the Chief designer of SkyWay high-speed transport complex spoke about the strategy for the development of string transport, the difficulties in the development of infrastructure technologies, and also commented on the state of developments of competitors from Hyperloop:

A lot of noise, but not much use. Not a very thoughtful concept, primarily because engineers are trying by all means to achieve maximum speed, and at the same time they do not think about how the passenger will feel. There is no concept of normal centrifugal acceleration, solutions to the problems of thermal deformation are not thought out. And the safety of such transport remains doubtful.

Sergey Artyushevsky also spoke about the plans on the development of the high-speed transport complex:

In its turn, high-speed transport will connect local urban networks into one large, global system. Its speed is up to 500 km/h today; in the future this indicator will rise. In order not to interfere with the townspeople, the major transport hubs of high-speed transport will be located outside the city, and passengers will pass the “last mile” - the distance to the threshold of the house - by urban modules.
