String Transport is the Most Promising Way for the Development of the Industry

13 March 2023

Friends, today we will take a short digression into history. The idea of the need to combine an airplane and a car, expressed by Henry Ford in 1940, has been implemented by modern developers of flying cars. But air taxi manufacturers from Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and South Korea, in pursuit of the title of pioneer, forget the main thing: uncontrolled flights over the city are dangerous. There are many questions about the prospects of this new transport direction.

The announcement of the launch of a flying taxi service in Dubai in 2026 provoked several statements from countries producing unmanned air transport. Japan announced the first test flight of an air taxi with passengers on board, and South Korea announced plans to introduce an air taxi service as early as mid-2025. However, analysts at Deloitte expressed doubt that the developments could be implemented so quickly in a large city. The company identified five key challenges that need to be addressed before launching air transport. It is important to reduce noise levels, optimize energy efficiency and improve the collision avoidance system. But the main problems are the lack of a reliable communication system in the air and insufficiently developed situational orientation systems. Without working through these tasks, lifting hundreds of air taxis into the airspace over the city will create chaos. Deloitte advises manufacturers to develop technologies aimed at autonomous movement of vehicles, including in difficult terrain and in bad weather conditions.

String transport and infrastructure complexes already meet these requirements today. Elevated routes can be integrated into urban development without large-scale reconstruction and land works. In addition, their construction is more profitable in terms of cost and operating costs compared to other types of overpass transport.

Details are in the original article on the website of the developer of string technologies.
