Last weekend the Deputy Director on development of the SkyWay Group of Companies Victor Baburin has delivered a report at the conference in Jurmala.
The main subject of Victor’s presentation was the concept of “Mobility 4.0”. This is an attempt to transform a passenger’s travel into a very easy and convenient process, where software programs and the rolling stock interact perfectly. Now this is a very popular trend among the luminaries of the transport business; this subject has become most talked about at the International trade fair in the field of transport InnoTrans 2016.
Victor spoke about the gaps characteristic for the transport industry at present; about how transport innovations “in the project” differ from the innovations “in practice”: in most cases, the high technologies are integrated into the existing, outdated transport infrastructure, which is not a radical solution to the problem.
The German Transport Minister Alexander Dobrindt: “The digital age has already created all the conditions to unite the new mobility, but such purely physical processes as the speed of obtaining permits, the regulatory system for railway transport, construction deadlines, the constant need for investment in the aging infrastructure do not allow the society to receive the fruits of the digital age in such a cornerstone field as the transportation. There is a very great gap between the things that customers require and the things that railway operators and manufacturers of railway technologies offer them.”
In his report, the Deputy Director on development of the SkyWay Group of Companies spoke about the solution of this problem using the Skyway transportation system, which is much broader in the context of creating “Mobility 4.0”paradigm compared to traditional modes of transport:
– No restrictions existing for motor-road, rail and air transport;
– Applicability for both urban passenger traffic and freight transportation;
– Pre-fabricated, low-cost, all-weather routes;
– A rail track providing ideal conditions for the automation of the control system;
– Implementation of the traffic on the second level – no need for interaction with other vehicles and pedestrians on a different level from pedestrians.
It is impossible to solve a problem if its statements are originally written incorrectly. A new approach, a new vision, a fundamentally new transport logistics, – that is what modern realities require.
