Crimean Precedent: Latest News About the Lawsuit with “Objective”

04 October 2018

А few months ago the Sevastopol City Court obliged “Media Commander Group Ltd.” to release a refutation of the article about SkyWay at the portal “Objective” containing information that was not true. The details regarding this case have now become available. The lawsuit against the publisher was initially reviewed by the Gagarinsky district court, which dismissed it. But the higher authority has found errors in the work of its colleagues and ruled to delete the publication discrediting honor, dignity and business reputation of engineer Yunitskiy, as well as to post a refutation and pay a material compensation.

Despite the fact that the court decision came into force more than two months ago “Media Commander Group” did not comply with it. In this regard, the legal department of SkyWay developer-company appealed to bailiffs to facilitate the enforcement of the law.

At the same time, interest to SkyWay project is increasing in Crimea, despite the attempts of some media to create a negative informational background around it. Thus, representatives of the Research Institute of Agriculture of Crimea and the Committee on Innovation Activities at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Crimea have recently visited EcoTechnoPark. The guests examined the progress in the project’s development; they paid special attention to the flexible continuous track structure – its use in the context of the challenging Crimean terrain could be extremely efficient.

Svetlana Voloshina, Deputy Head of the Development Department, has paid a return visit to Crimea. She made a presentation of the project to a working group on environmental and economic pilot projects. The working group included representatives of Crimean leadership, members of the Russian Academy of Sciences and representatives of the scientific community in the region. Following the trip, working contacts were established with officials of the Crimean Department of Transport and regional educational institutions.
