SkyWay in the European Focus of Attention!

SkyWay in the European Focus of Attention!

26 November 2020

Dear friends, as we have already reported, Head of the RSW Investment Platform Maxim Isyp with partners – representatives of the Association of Investors and Employers of Ukraine – have recently taken part in the international conference of the highest level "18th European Week of Regions and Cities", strategically important for the development of the SkyWay project. It is the biggest annual Brussels-based event, which has become a unique communication platform bringing together political representatives, officials as well as experts and academics from all European regions and cities.

Over the past 17 years, this event has done a tremendous amount of work to facilitate policy learning and the exchange of best practices. The results of the last conference have yet to be summed up, but already in 2019 #EURegionsWeek reached a record high of more than 9000 participants and more than 330 sessions, which shows the event's relevance and potential.

What is the purpose of #EURegionsWeek?

- Discuss common challenges for European regions and cities, to exchange ideas on possible solutions by bringing together political representatives, decision-makers, experts and practitioners of regional policy, as well as stakeholders from business, banking, civil society organizations, academia, the EU institutions and the media.

- Provide a platform for capacity-building and the exchange of experience and good practices for those implementing EU cohesion policy and managing its financial instruments.

- Facilitate cooperation and networking between regions and cities.

- Feed into the debate on EU cohesion policy in a wider context, including recent research and views from third countries and international organizations.

Speech by Maxim Isyp

What was discussed at the last international forum?

In 2020, the following topics were discussed at the conference:

- Green Europe.

- Cohesion and Cooperation.

- Empowering Citizens.

Svetlana Voloshina's speech

Why is #EURegionsWeek important for SkyWay?

The project partners have conveyed to the widest circle of European politicians and businessmen – that is, decision-makers who concentrate huge financial resources in their hands – the advantages of string technologies over other existing and emerging developments in:

- Solutions to transport problems in large cities and remote regions.

- Empowering Europeans by facilitating the access to services provided.

- Strengthening ties between regions.

- Organizing life in cities (creating cities) within the Smart City approach.

- Environmental protection, etc.

There is no doubt that the time for targeted projects in Europe is approaching!
