“Transport is becoming smarter by the minute” ― an article under such heading was posted at the construction portal stroypuls.ru (in Russian). It reported on the ways the transport space of St. Petersburg is developing. The city is implementing fully-fledged information systems for public transport control, developing the Internet of things in the transportation sector and purchasing energy-efficient rolling stock.
The trends of infrastructure development include the SkyWay transport system. St. Petersburg intends to use a SkyWay route for passenger services between the city and Pulkovo airport. As stroypuls.ru notes, officials are ready to consider such a project after all the tests are successfully completed and the new mode of transport receives all the required certificates.
In addition to the promotion of numerous promising projects in Russia, work on SkyWay implementation in Australia is going on. This time, an article about SkyWay transport and its possible application under local specifics came out in Daily Mercury, state of Queensland. It points out that SkyWay offers a more innovative, eco-friendly, economical, fast and safe solution to transport problems.
Experience has shown that publications in foreign media often arouse interest in the project among domestic journalists, who, unfortunately, rarely pay attention to ideas and projects that are not “in the bank of lights”. This happened with an article at the well-known environmental and technological Internet portal Cleantechnika. Only after it, many Russian-speaking media realized the importance of SkyWay project and decided to report on it, albeit from the words of a Western source. The portal “Politexpert” (in Russian) and the news site U-News24 (in Russian) explained that SkyWay transport is a serious phenomenon and it can be considered as an actual competitor to the well-known Hyperloop.
By the way, American journalists pointed out SkyWay’s participation in the recent exhibition Future Cities Show Dubai. LA TF USA website reported that during the event, the local public and guests from 150 countries were presented with a promising technology of mobility arranged at the second level.
